With the strong belief that men needs to be surrounded with more spirituality is that a band of borthers give birth, is spite of theirselves,to this spiritual realization experiment: The Fratres Lucis Community. A group of brothers united by identical feelings of Universal Fraternities, feel the inner calling to build a Community made by Brothers and Sisters coming from different traditions, but without the need to be bound to any Order or Fraternity. One Brother gave it form and have prepared its birth; other brethren ahve taken up the job and have been bold enough to set a course over which to project the esoteric knowledge. And it was on july 23, 2000 that this movement have originated the modern Ordo Fratres Lucis.

When it was founded the Ordo Fratres Lucis, or Order of the Brothers of Light, was not related, nor was it a reference to the Illuminatti Order from Adam Weishaup, founded em 1776. It was inspired by the Florence Order of the Brothers of Light, founded in 1498, as a secret continuation of the Platonic Academy of Marcelo Ficcino.

Through the centuries, that order has changed its name a number of times: it was known by then as the "Brotherhood of the Illuminatti" (in a christic sense, still with no connection whatsoever with  Adam Weishaup's organization).

Our Modern Order have achieved recognition in september 2003, by the last Arconde from that Iluminist-Christic-Platonic line, the Count George Boyer from England.

As of September 9, 2003, the Ordo Fratres Lucis has received a Patent-Letter which allows it to operate as a legitimate organization, even though completly independent from the true historic Fratres Lucis, from Florence, Italy. This letter recognizes our selfless work as a new representative of the original Fratres Lucis' Spirit, and was given to us by the Grand Master Lewis Keizer, remnant of the old Fratres Lucis' Lineage from German and Italy.

Important: The Moderns Ordo Fratres Lucis does not transmit the ancient iniciations from the original Ordo Fratres Lucis, but was recognized as having the "right spirit", the spirit of the old original Fratres Lucis.

Like any other iniciatic order, the Ordo Fratres Lucis have its Temples (Lodges) which are the site for phisical reunion of its members.

This Order is not filiated to any iniciatic Order or Fraternity in the phisical plane, even though it shares the high esoteric ideals, like those of the Rosecrucianism, Martinism and Freemasonry.

The Order is formed by iniciates from many Orders and Fraternities. Still, any free person which is of a good character can apply for membership, even if they don't come fromany Order or Fraternity. To do so, the only requirement is to accept and pledge himself to the ethical norms of the Fratres Lucis.

Membership is completely free of charge. the knowledge transmited make use of the "Akashic Records of the Internet", or are given personally froma student with the lessons to another that does not have them or does not have access to the Internet. This community is not a site or commercial place and it does not sell its lessons. The possibility of sending the material over the Internet makes unecessarily to charge thew members. Still, each Lodge will require fees from the participants to cover the costs of maintaining the phisical place for the reunions.

The teachings given are those from many Schools, Fraternities and Orders, fro those are universal teachings.

The main objective oth the modern Ordo Fratres Lucis' teachings are in parallel to those of the old brothers of Light, and that is to restore in the world the teachings of our Lord jesus Christ.

All this is done through the series of teachings called Syllabus, which are all Christians in an esoteric sense. And so it is important to study the esoteric christian works of the magister Lucis Karl von Eckartshausen.

This path will have weekly stops along the way, on which occasions each member will receive through the Internet a Syllabus Hermeticae, filled with ethical and philosofical teachings from the Order.
